In anticipation of the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, Bootie Mashup maven Adriana A played a bunch of these mashups on her Mashup Listening Party on Twitch, a few days ahead of this incredibly stacked “emo fest.” A fan of many of these bands from the mid-’00s, Adriana decided to compile the best ones into a playlist, culling several from fellow emo fan Lewis Wake, along with entries from the Crumplbangers When We Were Young Festival Challenge, which iWillBattle organized back in January. Featuring 13 different mashup producers (and somehow, five Taylor Swift songs, who, let’s face it, is actually emo AF) this 25-track collection should take you back while bringing you forward, mashing up the biggest hits from 23 different WWWY artists. Put it on while you get ready for an “emo night,” as you flat-iron those bangs and smear that black eyeliner!
