PlayXLand: Bootie Mashup
To celebrate Bootie Mashup’s one-year anniversary of being part of PlayXLand (pronounced with the X silent), San Francisco’s weekly Wednesday fetish night, resident DJ Adriana A has crafted a special mixtape, with 16 sexy darkwave mashups she made specifically to soundtrack the front room dance floor, as well as the back room dungeon.
Featuring mostly female pop vocals — Rihanna, Halsey, Lizzo, Miley, Gaga, Kylie, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Dua Lipa, Siouxsie and more — these familiar artists get mashed up with the darkwave underground, spanning from goth to synthwave to indie to electropop, with classic artists like Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Clan of Xymox to more modern acts like Boy Harsher, HEALTH, Night Club, Perturbator, Vitalic, Ladytron, and more.
PlayXLand happens every week at Cat Club SF.
