About this event

There is nothing Bootie loves more than the musical culture-clash that mashups make possible. And nowhere is that more evident than in mashups that mix and mash music from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s, and NOW — paying homage to the originals while keeping the music fresh, in order to create brand-new music that you’ve almost, but not quite, heard before! Resident DJs Adrian A and Dada will be joined by mashup producer DOSVEC, direct from Boston! Called “the Mashup Monster” by the New York Post, DOSVEC has had numerous mashups appear on the HypeMachine Top 10. But at the end of the day, he just wants to make people’s rump shake At 11 PM, Smash-Up Derby takes to the stage for a special live multi-decade mashup rock show, while aerialist JonBenet Butterbuns performs above the crowd for the Midnight Mashup Show.

Upstairs in the Lounge, it’s Swaaamp, as disco, house, and more gets purposely pitched down 10% for a thick, swampy, bent and funked-slowly sound, while in Above, Gaslight Mafia manipulates classic swing and jazz with modern sounds, plus Post Cliché takes over the Dazzle Room, keeping you moving on the dance floor! All this, plus drag hosts Suppositori Spelling and Qween, club photographer ShutterSlut, and FREE Bootie mashup CDs to the first 50 people!

Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning bootleg mashup scene — and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with parties in cities across the globe. Winning various nightlife awards for the past 13 years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
