About this event
It’s the Black & Blue Ball — Bootie’s annual tribute to Folsom Street Fair weekend, with plenty of sexy mashups and fetish-tinged fun to go around. Dress up in your fetishwear finest for FREE entry, or come as you are! At 11 PM on the Main Stage, live mashup rock band Smash-Up Derby throws down an extra sexy set, while resident DJs Mysterious D, King of Pants, ShyBoy and Dada spin mashups that are sure to keep you sweating late into the night. Plus genius choreographer MJ Paul pulls out all the stops for a kinktacular Midnight Mashup Show!
Upstairs in Above, LA’s popular Tag Team Disco comes to SF, spinning classic disco and album cuts, while in the Lounge, Bootie LA’s ShyBoy joins Bootie Seattle’s King of Pants for the Hip Hop Pool Party. And in the Dazzle Room it’s the delirious, roof-raising dance sounds of Brass Tax! Plus drag hosts Suppositori Spelling and Qween, club photographer ShutterSlut capturing the sexy fun, and FREE Bootie mashup CDs to the first 100 people!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-new bootleg mashup — and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities across the globe. Winning various nightlife awards for the past 13 years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations that provide the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
