Best of Bootie 2014
It’s that time of year again! We’ve just compiled and mixed our 10th (yes, TENTH) “Best of Bootie” mixtape compilation, complete with 20 of the year’s best mashups, plus 10 bonus tracks.
As always, this mixtape really sonically represents the sound of 2014 at Bootie, from the “kick-off” right after the Midnight Mashup Show, to the sing-alongs, to the “hands up” EDM mashup bangers, to the cheesy pop classics, all the way down to the chilled-out come down, and the last slow jam of the night. It’s all packed in here, in a convenient 77-minute non-stop mixtape!
We – A Plus D – put together this year’s intro (with ideas from Barcelona’s DJ Surda) and there are three tracks here that have never been posted to a Bootie Top 10 before. Plus, as we’ve been doing the past few years, we’ve spliced together a couple “hybrid mashups” from various producers, for those songs where we couldn’t pick just one mashed-up version. Italy’s DJs From Mars are the big winners this year, as their tracks have consistently provided the big “confetti moments” at the party, but there are a few new producers joining the ranks as well.
