About this event
It’s the Bootie SF Valentine’s Party! Whether you love Valentine’s Day or loathe it, Bootie has got mashed-up love songs for you! Bring a date, or find someone here! Get ready for some wet kisses, as DJs Adrian A, Tyme and Jimi G give you a night full of mashed-up love! At 11 PM, Bootie’s own house band Smash-Up Derby takes to the stage for a set of twisted love mashups to get your hearts beating fast, while aerialist duo Koz and Effect take to air high above your heads for the Midnight Mashup Show!
Upstairs in the Lounge, it’s Swaaamp, as disco, house, and more gets purposely pitched down 10% for a thick, swampy, bent and funked-slowly sound, while in Above, Gaslight Mafia manipulates classic swing and jazz with modern sounds, with special guest DJ Skyler Voodoo from The Vaudevillainz. And Post Cliché takes over the Dazzle Room, keeping you moving on the dance floor! Plus drag hosts Qween and Abominatrix, club photographer ShutterSlut capturing the fun, and FREE Bootie mashup CDs to the first 100 people!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-new bootleg mashup — and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities across the globe. Winning various nightlife awards for the past 13 years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations that provide the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
